Physician Specialists

Dr. Devapiran Jaishankar is a Board-certified internist and oncologist. He completed his medical school training from the prestigious Madras Medical College in Chennai, India. Dr. Jaishankar did his Internal Medicine residency and Medical Oncology fellowship training at East Tennessee State University. He served as the Division Chief of Oncology-Hematology for almost a decade up until June 2024 before transitioning to Tennessee Cancer Specialists. After joining as a faculty in the Division of Oncology at ETSU in Feb 2010 he led the Medical Oncology fellowship training as a Program Director for over 8 years from 2015 to 2023. He has had presentations at multiple local, regional, and national meetings over the years. Dr. Jai has worked as a physician in Southern Appalachia for over 30 years and looks forward to continuing to serve the community in the Tri-Cities for their Hematology Oncology needs.
